Jens Krause

I am a PhD student at the IMK-IFU since September 2018 after finishing my M.Sc. degree in meteorology at the University of Hannover.

My research interest focusses of ecosystem dynamics, especially the interactions between animals and their ecological habitat. Since the traditional scientific view of ecosystem marginalised the effects of the top of the food pyramid, there is a lot less known about the effects animals imply on an ecosystem when compared to other parts of the biosphere. With my research, I aim to tackle this knowledge gap by creating a full multi-trophic model system of functional diversity. To achieve this, I am working on LPJ-GUESS (a DGVM) and Madingley (functional diversity model).
